Pet Fair Asia 2026, one of the most important gatherings for the pet products industry in Asia, opens its doors on August 19-23, 2026 in Shanghai. Covering everything from food manufacturers and accessory suppliers to aquarium equipment and veterinary products, the fair offers a productive trading ground for exporters, importers, retailers and brands. In this guide we take a detailed look at what Pet Fair Asia 2026 offers, who should visit, and how Turkish companies in particular can get the most out of this China trade show.
What Is Pet Fair Asia and Why Does It Matter?
Pet Fair Asia is one of Asia's leading B2B fairs, bringing the entire pet products ecosystem together under one roof. With hundreds of exhibitors, the fair serves as a showcase for those who want to see the latest product trends, packaging innovations and supply chain solutions. Many sub-categories are represented here, from pet food and treats to smart collar technologies, and from cat litter to aquarium systems.
The importance of the fair goes beyond the variety of products on display. The Shanghai pet products fair also functions as a decision-making hub where regional and global buyers shape their purchasing decisions for the year. New distribution agreements, private label collaborations and long-term supply contracts often begin with the first contacts made at events like this.
The Pet Products Industry and the China Market
Pet products is one of the steadily growing sectors worldwide. Rising household income, the perception of pets as family members and the trend toward premium nutrition continually push up demand for food, care products and accessories. This growth creates new market opportunities for both manufacturers and suppliers.
China is one of the markets where this growth is most dynamic. An urbanizing young population, the prevalence of e-commerce and the rapid rise in pet ownership make China both a large consumption market and a strong production base. This is exactly where Pet Fair Asia comes in, bringing foreign brands seeking to enter the Chinese market and Chinese manufacturers seeking to expand abroad into the same hall. In this respect, the fair acts as a two-way trade bridge.
The fair appeals to nearly every link in the pet products value chain. Food and treat importers, pet shop chains and retailers, e-commerce platform buyers, distributors, brands looking for private label production and veterinary clinic suppliers make up the primary visitor base.
In addition, product development teams, packaging and design professionals, purchasing managers and entrepreneurs new to the sector can benefit greatly from the fair. Pet Fair Asia offers a productive environment for anyone looking to find new suppliers, expand their existing product range or closely monitor the competition.
Product Categories on Display
Pet Fair Asia features a broad range of categories covering almost all sub-segments of pet products. The main highlighted categories include dry and wet pet food, treats and snacks, vitamins and supplements; accessories such as collars, leashes, beds and carriers; and toys and activity products.
On the care and hygiene side, there are shampoos, grooming products, cat litter and toilet solutions. In addition, aquarium and aquatic life equipment, bird and small animal products, smart pet technologies (automatic feeders, GPS collars) and veterinary health products are strongly represented at the fair. This diversity allows visitors to review all their sourcing needs in a single visit.
Dates, Location and Transport Information
Pet Fair Asia 2026 takes place in Shanghai on August 19-23, 2026. Shanghai, with its large and modern exhibition venues, is a city accustomed to hosting international events of this scale. For up-to-date hall information and registration details, it is recommended to follow the official website petfairasia.com.
Reaching Shanghai is quite convenient via Pudong International Airport and Hongqiao Airport. The city's metro network is extensive, fast and usually offers direct connections to exhibition areas. Since the fair days can get busy, planning accommodation near the venue and the relevant metro lines in advance saves time.
Opportunities and Tips for Turkish Companies
For Turkish pet product manufacturers and exporters, Pet Fair Asia is a strong gateway to the Asian market. Turkey's geographic location, production quality and flexible supply capability are advantages that, with the right presentation, can attract the attention of Asian buyers. It is especially possible to establish new connections in private label production, food and treat exports, and the accessories segment.
A few practical tips for an efficient fair experience: keep English versions of your product catalogs and price lists ready, and if possible add a Chinese promotional summary. Identify the exhibitors you want to meet in advance and request appointments. Carry samples and packaging examples with you; be ready to present certificates and quality documents (food safety, export compliance) in an organized manner. Setting up your business cards and digital communication channels (including WeChat) in advance greatly simplifies communication in China.
Visit Preparation: Visa and Accommodation
When traveling to China for business, it is important to start the visa process early. Since visa types and conditions can be updated from time to time, you should check the current requirements from official consulate sources before applying. A fair invitation or confirmation of participation may be among the documents that ease the application process.
On the accommodation side, since the fair dates coincide with a busy period, booking hotels as early as possible provides both price and location advantages. Staying in areas with easy metro access to the venue significantly eases daily travel. Practical digital preparations such as local payment apps, offline maps and translation tools also make daily life in Shanghai easier.
