We cover everything you need to know step by step, from the scope of the fair and the product categories on display to transport and accommodation tips, as well as opportunities specific to Turkish companies. The key to making a China fair visit productive is good preparation, and this article aims to do exactly that.
What Is ProPak China and Why Does It Matter?
ProPak China is one of Asia's leading specialized fairs focused on the packaging and processing industry. The fair covers a wide spectrum, from food and beverage filling lines to pharmaceutical packaging machinery, from flexible and rigid packaging materials to labeling and coding systems. Hundreds of domestic and international exhibitors showcase the latest machinery technologies, automation solutions and packaging innovations here.
The importance of the fair does not come only from the products on display. ProPak China is a meeting point where industry professionals hold face-to-face talks, build new supplier networks and observe current trends in the Chinese market on the ground. In an era where topics such as sustainable packaging, smart manufacturing, food safety and efficiency are in the spotlight, keeping a finger on the pulse of the field has become critical for making the right decisions.
The Packaging and Processing Sector and the Chinese Market
Packaging and processing form a fundamental link in nearly every production chain, from food to pharmaceuticals, cosmetics to chemicals. These solutions, which extend a product's shelf life, ensure it reaches the consumer safely and increase brand visibility, are evolving rapidly alongside automation and digitalization. Robotic packaging, traceability systems and recyclable materials set the agenda of the sector.
As one of the world's largest production and consumption markets, China represents both huge demand and a strong supply source for packaging and processing machinery. ProPak China is an ideal window for those who want to observe the dynamics of this market firsthand. China's price-performance balance, scale advantage and fast supply capacity are among the topics that Turkish companies seeking machinery and materials evaluate carefully.
Who Should Visit the Fair?
ProPak China 2026 appeals to professionals from every link of the packaging and processing chain. Food and beverage manufacturers, pharmaceutical and cosmetics firms, contract manufacturers, packaging material suppliers and machinery importers make up the core visitor base of the fair. It offers a rich resource for anyone looking to renew their production line, increase capacity or enter a new product category.
In addition, purchasing managers, R&D teams, quality and food safety specialists, export-import professionals and entrepreneurs planning investments also gain great value from the fair. If you plan to sell machinery to the Chinese market, source from China or see new technologies up close, this China fair should be at the top of your visit list.
Product Categories on Display
Main categories on display at the fair include filling and packing machinery, food and beverage processing lines, pharmaceutical processing and packaging equipment, labeling-coding-marking systems and end-to-end automation solutions. Conveyor and handling systems, palletizing and robotic handling equipment also find ample space.
On the packaging materials side, flexible and rigid packaging, carton and corrugated board solutions, plastic and paper-based materials, capping-closure systems and printing technologies stand out. Sustainable and recyclable packaging materials, along with testing and inspection equipment that supports food safety, also reflect the fair's current themes. This diversity makes ProPak China a platform that allows comprehensive comparison from a single point.
Dates, Venue and Transport Information
ProPak China 2026 will be held between June 15-17, 2026 at the SNIEC (Shanghai New International Expo Centre) in Shanghai. SNIEC is an international exhibition venue located in the Pudong district of Shanghai with modern and spacious hall capacity. You can access the program, exhibitor list and registration details via the official website propakchina.com.
In terms of transport, SNIEC is easily reachable by the relevant lines of the Shanghai metro, by taxi, or by shuttles operating during fair days. Travel to Shanghai from Turkiye is generally via connecting or direct scheduled flights; the two major airports, Pudong and Hongqiao, are integrated with the city center and the fairground through metro and high-speed rail connections. For accommodation, hotels around Pudong offer the advantage of proximity to the fair.
Opportunities and Tips for Turkish Companies
The Turkish packaging and machinery sector holds a competitive position thanks to both its production quality and its proximity to European and Middle Eastern markets. ProPak China 2026 opens important doors for Turkish companies to see new machinery technologies, meet cost-effective suppliers and evaluate cooperation opportunities with Chinese manufacturers. At the same time, it serves as a showcase for Turkish producers to introduce their own solutions to the Asian market.
A few practical tips for a productive visit: Review the exhibitor list before the fair and book appointments with the firms you want to meet; keep your technical specifications and needs list with you; and when buying machinery, always clarify after-sales service, spare parts and warranty conditions. While English communication is possible at most stands, interpreter support eases critical negotiations. Carrying business cards and digital catalogs speeds up the follow-up process.
Visit Preparation: Visa and Accommodation
It is important to check current visa procedures for travel to China at an early stage; since the visa type, required documents and application duration may change periodically, it is recommended to get up-to-date information from official sources and authorized visa centers. Preparing details such as passport validity, invitation/registration documents and travel plans in advance speeds up the process. Because the fair coincides with busy periods, making flight and hotel reservations as early as possible provides an advantage in both price and availability.
For accommodation, the Pudong district where SNIEC is located can be a practical choice due to ease of access to the fair; for more economical options, areas along the metro line can also be considered. Keeping international payment infrastructure, online maps and translation apps with you makes daily tasks easier in a large city like Shanghai. In China, where payment habits have become digital, it is helpful to set up mobile payment options in advance.
