Watertech China 2026 opens its doors on 3-5 June 2026 in Shanghai, China's financial and industrial powerhouse. Bringing water treatment, pumps, valves, pipes, membranes and industrial water solutions under one roof, this event is an important meeting point for professionals who want to keep their finger on the pulse of China's water industry. Often referred to as the Shanghai water expo, it is regarded as one of the gateways into Asia's rapidly growing water technology market.
In this guide we walk through what Watertech China 2026 offers, which product categories are on display, who should attend and what opportunities exist for international companies. If you are planning a trip to a China expo, you will find the practical information you need here, from visit preparation to transport.
What Is the Fair and Why Does It Matter?
Watertech China is a specialized fair focused on every stage of the water cycle: from drinking water supply to wastewater treatment, from industrial process water to seawater desalination. It connects manufacturers, engineering firms, municipalities, plant operators and technology providers on a single platform, enabling supplier-buyer relationships to be built.
The event's significance stems from China being one of the world's largest investors in water infrastructure. Industrialization, urbanization and tightening environmental regulations continuously increase demand for water treatment and reuse technologies. As a result, Watertech China 2026 offers a valuable chance to see and compare the latest technologies on the spot.
Water, Pump and Valve Technology Sector and the China Market
Water, pump and valve technologies sit at the intersection of fluid control, pressure management and energy efficiency. Centrifugal and submersible pumps, butterfly and gate valves, pressure reducers, flow meters and automation systems are the core components of this ecosystem. China holds a global position in this segment thanks to both its large-scale manufacturing capacity and rapidly improving quality standards.
The size of the Chinese market encourages both domestic producers and international brands to establish a regional base. Watertech China 2026 is the right address for those who want to compare price-performance, discover new sourcing channels and follow technological trends in this competitive environment. Membrane technologies (RO, UF, MBR), disinfection systems and smart water management solutions have been among the prominent topics in recent years.
Who Should Visit?
Watertech China 2026 appeals to a broad professional audience. Water treatment plant investors and operators, municipal and public water authorities, and plant managers from water-intensive sectors such as food and beverage, textile, chemical and energy are all part of the target audience.
It is also a valuable resource for pump and valve importers, engineering and contracting firms, product development teams and procurement specialists seeking new suppliers. Companies importing water technologies or looking for export opportunities can make direct contact with hundreds of exhibitors through this China expo.
Product Categories on Display
The main product and solution groups at the fair include: water treatment systems (drinking water, wastewater, industrial process water), reverse osmosis and membrane technologies (RO, UF, NF, MBR), pumps (centrifugal, submersible, dosing), valves and flow control equipment, and pipe and connection systems.
In addition, filtration and disinfection equipment (UV, ozone, chlorination), water quality measurement and monitoring devices, flow meters and sensors, automation and SCADA solutions, and water reuse and zero liquid discharge (ZLD) systems are within the scope of the fair. This diversity turns Watertech China 2026 into a showcase of the entire water ecosystem.
Date, Location and Transport
Watertech China 2026 takes place on 3-5 June 2026 in Shanghai. Shanghai has two major airports, Pudong (PVG) and Hongqiao (SHA), and is reachable from many countries via direct or connecting scheduled flights. For official dates, hall details and the latest program, we recommend checking the fair's website at watertech-china.com.
Because Shanghai's metro network is highly developed, getting to the venue is convenient; in addition, the Maglev high-speed train provides a fast link between Pudong Airport and the city center. Choosing accommodation near the venue saves time during the intensive three-day program.
Opportunities and Tips for International Companies
Many countries, including Turkey, hold a strong position in water treatment and pump-valve manufacturing; Watertech China 2026 can be a bridge to carry this expertise to the Chinese and Asian markets. For importers, the fair is an effective way to find qualified suppliers at competitive prices; for exporters, it is a way to meet Chinese and regional buyers.
Tips: Before your visit, clarify your target product categories and the list of exhibitors you want to meet. Prepare bilingual business cards and technical catalogs, and keep English product specifications on hand. When requesting quotes, always ask about MOQ (minimum order quantity), certification (CE, ISO) and delivery terms. Planning sample and factory visit requests during the fair makes follow-up communication easier.
Visit Preparation: Visa and Accommodation
Many travelers need a visa to enter China; it is safest to start the application process a few weeks before your trip. Preparing documents such as an invitation letter, hotel reservation and flight details in advance speeds up the process. Since visa rules can change, we recommend confirming official consulate information before applying.
Shanghai offers a wide range of hotels; because demand rises during fair periods, booking early is advantageous. In China, where local payment apps are widespread, preparing for mobile payment and internet access in advance will improve your comfort. Carrying a translation app for basic communication also makes things easier.
